Actor John Ritter forged a remarkable reputation in the comedy world with his Emmy-winning performance on the ABC sitcom "Three's Company" in the 1970s and 80s. Even the legendary performer Don Knotts called him the "greatest physical comedian on the planet." But Ritter also showed great range in dramatic roles as well, like Billy Bob Thornton's "Sling Blade" and the ABC miniseries adaptation of Stephen King's "It." However, Ritter died at just 55 while doing what he loved — rehearsing on set. His September 11, 2003 death from a long-undetected heart problem came as a seismic shock to audiences and the people who knew him well, with his "Three's Company" co-star Joyce DeWitt saying he was "impossible to forget, impossible not to love."
