 It is a species of mushroom found in Australia, New Zealand, New Caledonia and Chile.

This bright blue-cyan mushroom first emerges as tiny balls before maturing into a parasol shape. It is usually covered in slime called gleba. The glebe contains high levels of calcium that help protect the fruiting body during development.
